The bamboo salt guide

Read the number. Find your salt.

K-Lava Salt is Korean bamboo salt, known as 인산가 죽염. Start with the roast count, then explore its texture and how you want to enjoy it.

What does 4x or 9x mean?

The number refers to the roast count. Alkali 4x is roasted four times. Original 9x and Purple 9x are roasted nine times. The nine-roast process takes 25 days, with a final roast at 1,700°C.

Powder or crystal?

Powder mixes readily through food. Crystals offer individual pieces and a different texture. Insanga also describes enjoying bamboo salt on its own, letting it dissolve slowly. Check the label for your selected product and format. Grain size does not change the roast count.
