K-LAVA SALT · DOOYOO
Sea salt roasted inside bamboo, up to nine times, in Hamyang, Korea.
Since 1987
Insanga makes bamboo salt in Hamyang, Korea. West Sea salt is packed into bamboo, sealed with yellow clay and roasted over pine wood, then ground and packed again. Our 9x salts go through nine roasts over twenty five days, the last at 1,700°C.
K-Lava Salt is its name outside Korea. DOOYOO brings it to Canada.

The process
Salt is roasted in bamboo over pine wood, ground, packed into fresh bamboo and roasted again, eight times over. On the ninth roast the heat passes 1,700°C. The salt melts and runs like lava, then sets into crystal.
Inside the craft
At the table
Crystals stay crisp on top of food, a pinch over a finished plate. Powder dissolves fast in the pot, and it is the easy way in if you are new to bamboo salt.
